Q. Ray, you are so qualified to be the leader of Our Place International, after all you are the founder but you don’t seem to assume that role. What are your future plans?

A. The whole idea of leadership is to lead those least qualified. The downside of this principle is that it produces classes and we lose the concept of equality.

Leadership is a crippling concept. It is a burden for the leader and it weakens the followers. The school system should be to promote independence and teach by example. And if the school system will teach self leadership, then leadership as we know it will be temporary and important step towards equality.

So, the first step in this process is to be a good leader of yourself. And when you do that, you would want each to be their own leader. This would undoubtedly be a very important step towards equality and maturity.

This wonderful concept will become a reality when we see the body as the most highly evolved instrument on earth. It is our responsibility to give the body what its design wants. We need to wipe ourselves clean of all philosophies and weaknesses. We can no longer live our lives breaking the laws of life. My older brother, Ned was right. He said that if you want to know about life and how to live it, look at the animals. I wrote the following poem about that lesson.

Our Animal Friends

My older brother Ned told me many times,
“If you want to know about life and how to live it,
Look at the animals; they know all nature’s rhymes.”
They still have that sacred wisdom ---
The wisdom that was washed from us,
As we ate apple after apple after apple
And fill ourselves with the abrasive detergent of knowledge.

Anyone who is loved by an animal is a very lucky human.
For sure, they would have a friend forever.
That’s their reward for this great endeavor.
The animals are our distant cousins and were the sum total of them all.
Our connection is long and holy,
When we clean out and come home we’d see.
The whole of me is all life’s pleasure,
And I no longer have to roam.
It is so nice at last to be home.

The years behind me always remind me
That we’re a part of a gigantic family.
We are the highest evolved and it’s written on the wall.
Evolution is a great gift for us all.
There is a power that guides us along the way;
One day we will understand.
When we arrive at this point of thought,
It will ripple through the air that
Everyone breathes and fill our every need.

We have no idea about life. We were born into a system that was already set up, about procreation, raising a child, the food we eat, the education system that is supposed to ready us for life. We were coerced into believing that germs cause the disease, and we were talked into treatments that didn’t heal but cause damage to other parts and systems. And on top of that, we were hoodwinked into believing in a “God” we couldn’t see, yet we had to fear. We were threatened with hell, and the irony is that if we followed these rules, we would end up in a hell of our own making. We were led into this quicksand by leaders, so much for leadership.

Our Place is all about individual strength, honesty and independence. Over time, the churches, synagogues and temples will be places to discuss important issues, a co-op for food, and not a place to honor and constantly remember our disgraceful past, because the truth is, if we remember, we are destined to repeat it.

Leadership has failed in U.S., England, Canada, China and other countries around the world. The leaders of various school systems, the environment, health and welfare, economics and the Centre for Disease Control, leadership has resulted in the abuse of the great ocean and the very important purpose of the forest and fresh water. All of it is mismanaged. This brand of leadership is on its way out. And once again, “if we remember the past, we are destined to repeat it.”

P.S. In the leadership of one of the world’s great philosophies, they say “You can eat poorly but don’t eat meat, but whatever you do, don’t eat garlic and onion.” This is a good example of advice that came from a bad leader.
